Avis Hanna

Avis Lou Houston Hanna, 67, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at her residence.  She was born on February 20, 1956 to Wayne B. and Zula Maye Breeden Houston.  She lived in the Shannon area for the past 30 years and she loved to cook, read, spend time with her grandchildren, and write poetry.  She was Baptist by faith.  

No services have been scheduled.  

She is survived by her husband, Billy Hanna; one daughter, Tonya Self (Rusty); one son, Billy Hanna (Megan); 9 grandchildren, Kelsey Brooks (Cody), Jesse Timms (Trenton), George Self, Glenda Knowles (Heath), Dalton Hanna (Aubrie), Lance Canerdy, Emily Hanna, Brayden Hanna, Briley Hanna; 9 great grandchildren; brother, David Houston; and two sisters, Teresa Cowgill and Carolyn Silman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Donald Ray Yeager, II and Andrew Nathaniel Yaeger.
